A good estimate for vendors is $1,000 each. Of course, there is leeway and room for some negotiations. Having a wedding during a peek season and on a Saturday will demand a higher price from the vendors. If she is on a strict budget, a Friday or a Sunday wedding will be significantly more affordable.
If she is interested, I offer all couples a one-hour complementary consultation. It's a chance to pick my brain and to see if they are interested in the work of a wedding planner. This could be an in-person meeting at a central location, or over the phone. Either way, it's free and there is no obligation to hire me further.
Unfortunately, part of being a wedding planner also means keeping my vendor list private, and to paid customers. I have several packages to choose from, with limited vendor referrals to my preferred network. Within that network, are vendors that are trusted, well-rated, held to my standards, and offer my clients significant discounts over the average bride. It is through these services that the bride saves so much money by hiring a wedding planner.
During the consultation, I could tell her the best ways to find a vendor, but not give her my preferred list and discount without being a client. Because I am paid directly from the brides, I also pass all savings onto my brides, and do not take any commission from my vendors. While I am happy to provide vendor referrals, I usually do so for either a nominal fee, or at the very least, a favorable review on my Wedding Wire site.
I am happy to answer any questions she may have, and would love to meet with her, and hopefully help her to secure her vendors at a reasonable rate. Please direct her to my website for more information.
Sincerely,
